About Atelier ChouetteAtelier Chouette was created by designer and illustrator Dianna LaFerry after 15 years as an art director and commercial production artist. She produces a line of toy and accessory patterns, freelance illustrations, and textile designs. Not only has Dianna put her graphic training to good use, but she's throwing in her 22 years of sewing experience as well. Embracing her mother and grandmother's sewing studios from an early age, Dianna has sewn everything from potholders to custom bridal gowns. Although she's no longer making evening wear for hire, she does maintain a personal wardrobe made almost entirely by hand. With her level of dedication and love for sewing, the patterns of Atelier Chouette were just a matter of time. Dianna's patterns are designed to be instructive, fun to make, and fun to give and use. High emphasis is placed on clear step-by-step instructions -- even how-to instructions for hand stitching and embroidery are included with every pattern! Kit fabrics are hand-selected from current and classic fabrics with quality and expert color composition in mind. Many of the Atelier Chouette designs refer to classic forms and symbols from different cultures or eras. Dianna's hope is that makers everywhere will appreciate and enjoy incorporating these forms and symbols into their daily lives and crafting experiences. Even more than this, she wants people to have fun and keep on making! |
